Gilbert, originally Gene, commonly referred to as Gibby, is a cat owned by Mart. He is one of two cats owned by him, the other being Louis.
Adoption
Gilbert was adopted from the same shelter Louis was adopted from. Several people had applied to get him, but none ever went through. Finally, the shelter contacted Mart's family and asked for him to be adopted, waiving the fees as an incentive.
Behavior
Gilbert acts a lot like Lorelai. He is very noisy and isn't afraid to make his voice heard.
