CahBot was a series of 3 bots for Discord and IRC created by Cah and later developed by Soarn, Chew, and advaith. All bots development has ceased around 2019.
CahBot (Discord Bot)
History
The primary and most functional CahBot was the Discord version. It was created with discordrb.[1]
Development of the bot started on November 20th, 2016 with a simple code.txt file.[2] Development would mostly continue with other minor contributors until August 16th, 2017, with the addition of advaith's first commit.[3] Chew would commit the next day. After Chew took over, she made almost all of the rest of the commits until the bot's last commit.
Features
According to the command list, CahBot mostly had fun commands. It had only one moderation-related command (a ban command) and miscellaneous bot admin commands as well.
CahBot (Crystal Rewrite)
History
Cah decided to rewrite the bot in Crystal. It used the discordcr library.[4] Development was entirely by Cah, with only minor contributions from advaith (including a "noot" command) and Chew.
Features
As CahBot Rewrite was still in development before its abandonment, it only had 7 commands.[5]
IRCahBot
IRCahBot was a rewrite of the Discord CahBot for IRC in the cinch library. It had very little commands.
