ChewRPG

ChewRPG was an RPG game developed by Chew. The story as inferred was about a cat who transforms into a catgirl, and she begins to discover her identity. It was designed to be an allegory for a trans person's transition. It was developed using RPG Maker MV. Development has mostly ceased, as Chew does not intend to return to the project.

Gameplay

The game started off with a tutorial on how to move and interact with chests. After that, you were put into the main character's room. You were required to open chests in the bottom right of the room. Specifically, you needed to obtain the "Birth Certificate" that contained a name the main character doesn't recognize. After that, the player is able to leave the house.

Once gone, the player can leave and go next door to John's house, where they can interact and talk with him. After this, there is no further gameplay. There is also no documentation on what was supposed to come next.

Development

Development was primary done by Chew. She would work on it for a few days, releasing a canary build every few days. It was released on a GitHub pages site for those to play in the browser, and was also released via iOS TestFlight.

Easter Eggs

The game has several easter eggs, some of which would likely not have made it to the final relase.

Ben Shapiro Battles

In the top left of the town, as hinted by a villager, you are able to fight "Ben Shapiro." He has four stages. The first stage is just Ben Shapiro, the second stage is "Thanos Ben Shapiro," a purple-hued Ben Shapiro, and the final stage is "Mike Wazowski Ben Shapiro", a green-hued Ben Shapiro. After beating all three individually, you would fight all three.

Transgender Pride Flag

In one of the chests in the main house, you could find a "Transgender Pride Flag." Finding more flags was planned.
